Mark Washington – Principal (Mechanical Engineer) Mark Brian Washington was born and reared in Pittsburgh, PA to George and Jane Washington. Mark is a 1981 graduate of Lafayette College located in Easton, Pennsylvania. He graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and played Division I basketball as a freshman at Lafayette. Upon graduation, Mark accepted a position with United Engineers and Constructors, Inc., where he met his present business partner, Rico. Mark is now a registered professional engineer in four states (PA, NJ, MD and DE). Ulrick Joseph – Principal (Mechanical Engineer) Ulrick Pierre Joseph was born November 9, 1958 in Queens, New York to Antoine and Juslene Joseph, both are Haitian immigrants. Ulrick, better known as Rico, attended Jamaica High School, where he excelled in baseball and track. He was awarded an athletic scholarship to attend Temple University where he studied mechanical engineering. Upon graduation in 1981, Rico accepted a position with United Engineers where he met his present business partner, Mark Washington. Rico recently left Johnson & Johnson after sixteen years of service as an engineering manager to concentrate all his efforts on his engineering and construction businesses. Rico is also a partner in several car washes located in Bucks County, PA. Ivan Fairfax – (Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer) Ivan Fairfax is originally a native of Philadelphia, Pa. He attended Edward Bok Vocational High School and continued his education at St. Josephs University in which his focus was chemistry. Ivan has 40 years of Plumbing and Fire Protection experience and is certified in Plumbing Engineering by the American Society of Plumbing Engineering. He is also a member of both the American Society of Sanitary Engineering and the American Society of Plumbing Engineering of Pennsylvania. Ivan, a dedicated employee and charismatic individual brings both experience and enthusiasm to the work environment. Bruce Wilcox – (Plumbing Designer/CADD Operations) Bruce Wilcox, a New Jersey native has worked with Mark Ulrick Engineers Inc. for over 6 years and has proven to be an asset and key element to the organization. His studies include Electrical Design at Penn State. Bruce received certificates of Plumbing Design and Electrical Design from the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and Philadelphia Electrical Engineers. With his ability to design plumbing in commercial, high rise, residential and sports facilities areas Bruce has proven to be a positive and much needed member of the MUEI team. Leo Parnell – (Plumbing Designer/CADD Operations) Leo Benjamin Parnell, orginally from London England, began his schooling at Willsden College of Technology, Brent Borough-London, England in 1982 and studied course work in Mechanical and Production Engineering. After coming to America to further his academic studies he attended Pennsylvania Institute of Technology in Media, Pa and obtained an Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering. Leo received his Bachelors of Arts in Mechanical Engineering from Spring Garden College in Philadelphia and begun gaining industry experience immediately. Today Leo has close to 15 years work experience in the Mechanical, Piping and Plumbing trade and has worked for Mark Ulrick Engineers for 10 years. Guy Booth – (Mechanical Designer) Guy Booth, a Philadelphia native, has been an associate with Mark Ulrick Engineers, Inc. since the company’s inception. Guy has over 36 years experience in the engineering field as a mechanical design engineer. Guy brings to the team knowledge and expertise and has proven his commitment to the on-going development and success of Mark Ulrick Engineers, Inc. Valentine Soribe – (Construction Manager) Valentine Soribe was born in Nigeria, Africa. He moved to America in 1975 in order to pursue his educational goals, and attended New Jersey Institute of Technology now known as Kean University. Valentine majored in Industry Technology and specialized in mechanical contracting. With almost 30 years industry experience and over 3 years at Mark Ulrick Engineers Inc., Valentine has become an asset to the team. Joseph Gallagher – (Electrical Engineer) Mr. Gallagher is engineer very well known within the industry. He received his systems engineering degree from University of Pennsylvania and has been employed with prestigious firms within the city. He is well respected by his colleagues. Walter Johnson – (Electrical Engineer) Mr. Johnson obtained his Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering from Columbus University in 2000. He is a meticulously rounded engineer with over 20 years of experience in the field of Electrical Engineering System Design. He has established himself in the electrical industry by providing excellent services for various project types, such as Power System Design, Service Upgrades, Power System Studies, Lightning Protection Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency Systems, Lighting and Controls, Nurse Call Systems, UPS System, Voltage Drop Calculations and Studies. Raj Patel – (Electrical Engineer) Raj Patel was born in Ahmebabad, India. He attended college in India and received his B.A. in Electrical Engineering in 1977. Immediately upon graduation, Raj begun his career as an electrical engineer. Raj came to America in 1995 and continued his work. Now involved, and a major participant of the Mark Ulrick organization, Raj uses his 30 years experience and proficiency to contribute to the on-going effort of making this organization the pre-eminent minority business engineering firm in the area. Paulette Adams- (Accounting Clerk) Paulette Adams, a Philadelphia native, attended West Catholic Girls High School and continued her higher education at Eastern University in the surrounding Philadelphia area. At Eastern, Paulette earned a B.A. degree in Organizational Management in 1995. From there, Paulette worked for Mellon Bank before joining the Mark Ulrick team. She has been a Mark Ulrick Engineers Inc. employee for 3 years and has been the glue with which the organization is held together. Amira Hamid – (Director of Marketing & Business Development) Amira Hamid is a native to the island of St. Croix, located in the West Indies. She came to the US mainland in order to further her educational learning. She attended Drexel University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering during the spring of 2006. She began her career at Mark Ulrick Engineers by interning while attending college. As time progressed she later developed a marketing/business development team.
